our story

the words from Jesus to 'go therefore and make disciples' has been preached from many a pulpit and taught in thousands of homes and classes. the implementation of this, however, often seems disconnected from the teachings of the church. regardless of our church or ministry experience, most of us have never been trained on how to biblically make disciples. desiring to grow in faithfulness and to heed the call of the great commission, matthias' lot church decided in 2010 that it was time to look to the scriptures and learn how a 'disciple making church' could be more than just a catchy phrase.

we hired a pastor to implement and oversee discipleship within our church body and published a 'discipleship module' to further aid individuals in teaching basic biblical doctrine while discipling relationships learn how to live life together. discipleship is part of being a covenant member at matthias' lot church, and 'discipleship coaches' are in place to guide and encourage discipleship in our midst.

but His work is not yet finished.

we do not claim to have this entirely figured out, nor have we failed to realize that our church must continue to grow in our biblical understanding of discipleship and its implementation. simply put, after 5 years we feel called to teach and share our experience as practitioners journeying to obey the discipleship command more and more.
